It’s important to know the experience, history, and training approach of the person working with your best friend and family member. If it’s done wrong, it could leave the harmful lasting impression. Training is truly an investment to learn how to communicate properly and maintain a great relationship between you and your canine partner. Ensure the person you’re trusting cherishes your canine friend as much as you do.
A little bit about me! I’ve always had a strong love for all animals. Receiving many compliments on my natural ability to work with not only canines but all animals and get them to respond. For some it comes naturally to some, like me. I want to use that ability to help you have a better relationship with your canine.
During my high school years, I interned at a veterinarian clinic, showed Llamas in 4-H for confirmation and obstacle courses, taking home Reserve Grand Champion. I participate in AKC shows and events, bringing home Best of Breed with one of my girls.
I took it a step further with completing my studies in Canine Psychology to better understand the inner workings of the Canine mind. Recently approved by the AKC to train and evaluate for titles offered by their respective registry.
My approach is a positive one with your canine family member. I want them to enjoy learning, be excited to come, and eager to please! That eagerness will keep them hungry to learn and motivated to please.
On top of it all I've been breeding and training AKC German Shepherds for the last five years!
Every canine is different on how quickly they learn and the approach that needs to be used just like people. This is the reason we offer a per session rate when training instead of a flat rate. What one canine picks up on quickly may take another canine a couple of tries. That’s okay, we want to make sure they understand what we’re asking and don’t feel pressured into doing something.
We all learn best in a low-pressure fun environment; in turn they’ll enjoy completing any task you ask of them. We like to do sessions one on one with your canine, then integrate their owner into what they have learned and finish up by working together and perfecting their new skills as a team.
Why will my canine do it for someone else but not me?
A: It’s all in our approach, body language is a big factor, and believe it or not our tone. Sometimes we don’t realize exactly what our body tells them, and we need someone to help tweak those signals we’re giving off. Think of it as doggy sign language, the right gestures are key.
How many sessions will it take exactly to train my canine?
A: We can’t promise how many sessions exactly as every canine may differ on how much time they need than others. That’s okay, just like people each one learns differently.
Do you offer board any train options?
A: Currently we do not offer board and train options, this may become an option in summer of 2023.
Do you offer Service or Emotional Support Canine Training?
A: For a Service or canine for Emotional Support, it’s highly recommended that they obtain an Urban CGC. This ensures that they are adequately able to deal with their surroundings even in the busiest environment. From there we can discuss your individual needs and the training needed to get your canine to the end goal. Keep in mind not just any canine can be a Service or Emotional Support Canine. It takes a very specific canine mentally to do this.
Once my canine is done with training is that all?
A: Once trained retaining the information they’ve learned is a lifelong process. If you do not continue to practice what they’ve learned or follow through with the information, it won’t be retained, and this will require them to return to training. So, keep practicing! Practice makes perfect!
Why will my dog’s behavior change in our home or when guests come over?
A: There can be many reasons depending on your canine, the type of reaction, surroundings, and many other factors. To best answer this question, it would be best for us to complete a consultation in your home and witness the behavior firsthand. Sometimes video footage can help but not always.
Do you offer training with vicious dogs?
A: If the owner is willing to listen, follow direction provided by the professional you’re hiring, and truly work with the canine. Then yes, we’re willing to help. You must be willing to truly do what it takes and follow professional guidance as instructed. As bringing just a trainer in to help but you not following through with what has been shown will not make things better. It’s a team effort!!!
